Walk with the history of the divine

Touring the Holy Land of Israel can be a life-defining experience, and it’s an adventure many people dream of their entire lives. We here at Discovery Expeditions and Adventures consider Israel Discovery Tours to be transformative learning experiences, so much more than just a vacation. And for that reason, we have mapped out a Holy Land tour that will change your life.

With Discovery Expeditions and Adventures, you will avoid the beaten path to the same old sights. Instead, you will walk the ramparts and see places that no one else can show you. With a focus on history, culture and new discoveries, our Israel Discovery Tour is ever-changing, and every visit includes something new and exciting.

What You’ll See on Our Israel Discovery Tours

The Sea of Galilee has played host to thriving settlements and farming communities for centuries, and served as an important stop on the Via Marais, an ancient trade route that linked Egypt to the northern empires. On our journey through the holy land, we will take to the Sea by boat, and see many spiritual and historical landmarks.

When we visit the Village of Nazareth, you will have the opportunity to behold many locations memorialized in ancient texts and scripture. Home to Mary and Joseph, Christ spent much of his life walking on the paths you will trace. See the scriptures literally come to life for you, as you step back in time and walk in the footsteps of the prophets, the apostles and the Savior.

Our journey takes us to Masada, where Herod the Great fortified his kingdom high on a plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea, the lowest elevation on earth, served as a place of refuge for King David and was one of the world’s first health spa sites. At Qumran, you will witness the original hiding place of the Dead Sea Scrolls and experience some of the most significant archeological digs in the world.

Have you always dreamed of walking about the Old City of Jerusalem? One of the world’s oldest cities, Jerusalem was the site of the Crucifixion and Resurrection and hundreds of other events of great spiritual significance. Its bazaars stand, virtually untouched by time, as they have for centuries. Archeological sites reveal the artwork and antiquity treasures of a lifetime.

And of course we will visit Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. Sadly, many tours leave this important destination off the itinerary entirely. You will also have the opportunity to reflect at the Garden of Gethsemane, the Garden Tomb and the Mount of Olives.

Israel Discovery Tours for Small Groups

We offer this particular journey to small groups only, granting us exclusive access to sites and experiences others don’t offer. Our cherished local contacts in the area keep us updated on important developments and discoveries, information we use to improve your experience.

Of interest to members of the LDS community and others, we also offer special Holy Land tours that include a sacrament meeting and the opportunity for reflection at Brigham Young University’s Jerusalem Center, for those who wish to attend.
